To celebrate one year of good times at Johnny’s Green Room, we threw an exuberant birthday party on Thursday 5 December with 200 of our closest friends, family, media and industry faces.
We made sure all guests were well fed with Executive Chef Matteo Toffano’s selection of delicious Italian nibbles and always had a drink in their hands. From the oyster bar, mozzarella pulling station and the charcuterie table to the Aperol Spritz, Peroni and CAPI Sparkling bar, no detail was spared.
With full bellies came enjoyable tunes, company and panoramic views. Cool-girl Banoffee wowed the crowd with her singing performance, followed by local DJs Sui Zhen and Female Wizard taking to the decks. The icing on the cake for this birthday extravaganza was a surprise performance by three larger than life drag queens, who sang a colourful version of happy birthday.
Our local friends and favourites like Julia Busuttil Nishimura, Sam Lane, Ivana Martyn, The City Lane, Fiona Byrne and Alice Oehr were in attendance, and Johnny’s birthday bash was featured in the Sunday Herald Sun. We’re already looking forward to the terrible twos.
